For our last night, we got a craving for pizza from Charly's. Thankfully, they were open—a real stroke of luck, since practically nothing else was. The next few days are all about studying for a makeup exam, so I guess this is the final post for the holiday blog. It’s been a good brea k.

Today, we headed back to San Salvador. I honestly didn't want to make the trip, but we had been invited for New Year's Eve. At least they had a bonfire going, which was great because it was freezing. For dinner, there was a huge spread: stuffed chicken breast, pozole, a chilled soup, Christmas salad, roast loin again, and so on. It was way too much food, in the best way possible. It was just really nice to spend some time with the family.

Today, we made chicken milanesa with a mixed berry mojito at my place. We also just hung out and watched some movies. I was pretty tired from being out so much lately, so it was nice to finally relax a bit. Everyone said the food was great at least, that's what my girlfriend and I were told.  

Today, I got a wonderful surprise game I haven't played since I was a kid. They actually gifted it to me. We also made the trip back home from the party location.  

 This time, I went to a birthday party with my family all the way out in San Salvador. They served us carnitas with rice and nopales for dinner, gave out goody bags, and had a piñata along with other activities. It was quite a drive, so we ended up staying over. It was a really great time.

   We had our traditional Christmas dinner today. For the occasion, my girlfriend joined us again and helped me make the salad. We dined on roast loin with lasagna and had a gift exchange afterward. It was a truly lovely day.
